Southeastern Illinois College's (SIC) production of the Louisa May Alcott classic, "Little Women," will take place Feb. 10-11.

The performances begin at 7 p.m. both days in the George T. Dennis Visual & Performing Arts Center Theatre.

Callie Smith plays the mother of the four March sisters: Jo (played by Heidi Willis-Smith), Meg (Emily Green), Beth (Sarah Baldwin) and Amy (Reagan Gray). As the story goes, the family struggles while the children's father is away in the Civil War.

Additional actors include Brady Hodson as Laurie, Madison Miller as Hannah, John Suh as Mr. Brooks, Josue Urbina as Mr. Bhaer, Joshua Lowe as Mr. Laurence, Carson Brimm as Aunt March and Dalton Etheridge as Mr. March.

“This show is a timeless classic that portrays a family who goes through many struggles throughout their lives, but through it all they stay close-knit and come out in the end stronger than ever,” Gray said. “It really is a show that people can watch and not only enjoy, but also learn a few things along the way.”

Aaron McRoy acts as stage manager, with Gareth York directing. Janet Hart is the costume designer. John Hart of Hart’s Music in Harrisburg provides the audio gear.

Tickets for general seating are $8 for adults and $6 for students, staff and seniors. Tickets are available at the door or can be purchased in advance by calling 618-252-5400, ext. 2486 or 2487, or by emailing boxoffice@sic.edu
