Severin talks to constituents via first teleconference town hall

Rep. Dave Severin (R-Benton) got a chance to respond to concerns from his constituents during his inaugural teleconference town hall meeting recently.

"I just wrapped up my first Tele Town Hall with Reps. Bryant and Reis,” Severin posted on his Facebook page. “Got to talk with constituents on a wide range of issues from the budget impasse, bringing coal back, and how Madigan/Chicago is blocking progress. Great first tele town hall, thanks for all those who called in. Looking forward to more of them in the future."

While working in Springfield to push a budget agreement for the state, Severin said he has been making use of phone calls to manage other issues on behalf of his constituents, both through the teleconference town hall arrangement and other means.

"I was busy making calls today on behalf of the people of Johnston City and the horrible condition of the rail road tracks that are ruining folks cars in the community,” Severin posted. “I also was following up on the Williamson County Early Childhood Program and their status. Senator Fowler and I have been working hard to resolve their funding crisis with the Comptroller's office. Of course a balanced budget would get the job done too! We continually fight for that every.”
