Eldorado Memorial Public Library Board met May 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Present : Trustees- Walter Baker, Bob Barker, Janet Davis, Mike Vessell, Jeff Campbell, Bookkeeper- Patsy Simpson and Library Director- Felicia Murray.

Absent : Trustees- Susan Justice and Sheila Baird

Public Citizenry : None

Vice President Walter Baker called the meeting to order at 5:06 pm

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as presented.

Bob Barker presented the treasurer’s report. There were no outstanding issues. Mike Vessell made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report and to pay the bills. Janet Davis seconded the motion. All voted aye with a roll call vote.

Felicia Murray presented the Librarian’s Report. There were 2632 items circulated the previous month and a year to date total of 26901. There were a total of 250 e-resources circulated including 230 3-M items and 20 Zinio items. Interlibrary loans included 457 loaned items and 599 borrowed items. There were 13 instate loans and 0 out of state loans. The computer users totaled 507 for the previous month and totaled 3674 for the year to date. There were 18 new patrons registered last month, for a total of 3624 patrons.

Total receipts amounted to $3024. 00 which included $1283.76 from the City of Eldorado, $931.32 from The Friends and $100.00 from the Eldorado Women’s Club. Felicia Murray plans to attend a Library Law seminar on May 22nd at Carlyle Il. There was a question about the library being closed on Good Friday. It has been traditional for the Eldorado Library to close on this day as long as anyone can remember.

Old Business:

1. Flood Plain: It was suggested that someone from the Library determine if the Eldorado Library is still in the flood plain. Felicia Murray will go to City Hall and ask about this matter.

New Business:

1. Recently elected Trustees-Janet Davis and Walter Baker were sworn in by Secretary/Trustee- Jeff Campbell.

2. Election of Officers. Bob Barker made a motion to retain the current officers in their respective positions. Mike Vessell seconded the motion. All voted aye on this motion with a roll call vote.

3. Building and Maintenance Ordinance #150. Bob Barker made a motion to approve Building and Maintenance Ordinance #150. Mike Vessell seconded the motion. All voted aye with a roll call vote.

4. Non Resident Agreement Fee. The current annual non resident fee is $90.00 per family. Janet Davis made a motion to retain the current fee. Mike Vessell seconded the motion. All voted aye with a roll call vote.

5. OCLC Renewal : The renewal of our subscription for OCLC is due at a cost of $1375.83. Bob Barker made a motion to renew this program. Jeff Campbell seconded the motion all voted aye with roll call vote.

6. YALSA Symposium. Felicia Murray plans on attending a YALSA conference in Louisville Ky in early November. The fee will be no more that $259.00 Janet Davis made a motion authorizing Mrs. Murray to attend. Bob Barker seconded the motion. All voted aye with a roll call vote.

7. Interior light relays. A number of relays that control the lights by the circulation desk are defective. These relays are older and difficult to replace. Mike Sullivan can order several extra so we can have them if we need them. It was suggested that it might be better to upgrade with newer relays. Felicia Murray will find out more information on this matter.

Meeting adjourned with a motion made by Janet Davis and seconded by Mike Vessell. Next meeting : May 11th, 2017.
