Eldorado Memorial Public Library Board met December 14.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Present : Trustees-Walter Baker, Jeff Campbell, Bob Barker, Sheila Baird, Janet Davis, Mike Vessell, Bookkeeper-Patsy Simpson and Library Director- Felicia Murray.


Absent : Trustee-Susan Justice

Public Citizenry : None

President Sheila Baird called the meeting to order at 5:02 PM

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as presented.

Bob Barker presented the treasurer’s report. There were no outstanding issues. Mr. Barker made a motion to accept the report and to pay the bills. Walter Baker seconded the motion. All voted aye with a roll call vote.

Felicia Murray presented the librarian’s report. Circulation for the previous month was 2762 for a year to date total of 14042. There were 240 e-items circulated with a year to date total of 1394. Interlibrary loans included 461 loaned items and 688 borrowed items. There were 11 instate loans and 0 out of state loans. There were 12 new patrons registered last month for a total of 3821. Computer users numbered 577 for the month with a year to date total of 2958. Total receipts amounted to $166585.69 including $163179.69 from Saline Co. and $2798.87 from Hamilton Co.

Old Business

1. Raising the AC unit: Mrs. Murray has received a bid of $3600.00 from Biggs Heating and Air to raise the AC unit. Bob Barker advised Mrs. Murray to obtain a boiler plate contract from the contractor, detailing the specifics of the bid. Bob Barker made a motion that authorized Mrs. Murray to finalize the contract with Biggs, after she has received a boiler plate contract. Mike Vessell seconded the motion. All voted aye with a roll call vote.

New Business

1. Grants : Mrs. Murray is still working on the Per Capita Grant and the Live and Learn Grant. It will also soon be time for the McDonalds Grant.

2. Meeting Dates : The Board of Trustees Meeting dates for 2018 will continue to be held on the second Thursday of each month at 5:00 PM. Janet Davis made the motion and Jeff Campbell seconded. All present voted aye.

3. Sexual Harassment Policy : The library needs to enact some type of anti-sexual harassment policy by Jan. 15, 2018. Felicia Murray reported that she is waiting on word from Phil Lenzini concerning this policy as it relates specifically to libraries.

4. Staff Christmas Bonuses : Jeff Campbell made a motion to increase all staff Christmas bonuses by $25.00 from last year. Walter Baker seconded the motion. All voted aye with a roll call vote.

Meeting adjourned at 5:40 PM / Next meeting Jan. 11TH 5:00 PM.
