Q2 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Saline County?

There were 18 offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live in Saline County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by SE Illinois News.

The data shows that 16 men and two women were released in Saline County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 37. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017, and the oldest was a 55-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2015.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Darius J. Barners. He was convicted of a property crime in 2013 when he was 23 years old. He is now 29.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the second quarter in each Saline County municipality.
