Eldorado Community Unit School District #4 Board of Education Met April 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Education of Eldorado C.U.S.D. #4 met in regular session in the Board Room #219. Board President, David Bartok, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Board members present and answering roll call were: David Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Bryce Hampton, Preston Justice and Grant Loudy. Absent: Keith Oglesby. Present: Supt. Ryan Hobbs, Rick Cox, Blake Bradley, Cody Cusic, Billy Tippett and Kim Butler, recording secretary. Others: Miranda Cain (EEA), Kaleb Irwin, Luke Schultz and Paxton Morse.

Recognize visitors for public comment: None.

Bryce Hampton made a motion to seat David Bartok, Ron Bradley, Austin Bradley and Luke Schultz having received the highest number of votes cast and all four are elected to four (4) year terms as per attached abstract of votes from the County Clerks of Saline, Hamilton and Gallatin Counties (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-6-31). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice and Loudy. Voting no: None. Absent: Oglesby.

Preston Justice nominated David Bartok for Board President for a term of two (2) years. Bryce Hampton seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. David Bartok was declared elected President by unanimous vote. (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-6-32).

Ron Bradley nominated Bryce Hampton for Board Vice President for a term of two (2) years. Austin Bradley seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Bryce Hampton was declared elected Board Vice President by unanimous vote. (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-6-33).

David Bartok nominated Grant Loudy for Board Secretary to serve for a term of two (2) years. Bryce Hampton seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice and Schultz. Voting no: Grant Loudy. Absent: None. (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-6-34).

Bryce Hampton made a motion to approve that the regular meeting date of the Board of Education of Eldorado C.U.S.D. #4 be established as the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room #219 (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-6-35). Austin Bradley seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

All elected board members took the oath simultaneously.

Austin Bradley made a motion to approve the regular meeting minutes for 3-18-21 and special meeting minutes for 4-9-21 (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-1-28). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice and Loudy. Voting no: None. Abstaining: Schultz. Absent: None.

Austin Bradley made a motion to approve the March, 2021 Treasurer’s Report (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-1- 29). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Austin Bradley made a motion to approve the payment of Unit #4 bills (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-1-30). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Bryce Hampton made a motion to approve the second reading and adoption of board policies 1:10, 1:20, 1:30, 2:80, 2:80-E, 2:120 & 2:250-E3 (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-5-22). Grant Loudy seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Bryce Hampton made a motion to approve the first reading of board policies 3:30, 3:60-E, 4:45, 4:55- AP, 4:120, 4:130, 4:170-AP2 and 4:170-AP5 (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-5-23). Grant Loudy seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Mr. Bradley, Mr. Tippett and Mr. Cusic gave building updates

Bryce Hampton made a motion to approve the 5th grade out of state trip on May 20th with buses being provided by the district (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-11-2). Austin Bradley seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Austin Bradley made a motion to approve the 8th grade out of state trip to Holiday World (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-11-3). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz.

Austin Bradley made a motion to approve the FFA State Convention trip to Springfield (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-11-4). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz.

Preston Justice made a motion to accept the letter of retirement from Tina Lane effective at the end of the 2021-2022 school year (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-4-5). Austin Bradley seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Austin Bradley made a motion to approve a maternity leave for Sheree Townsend from April 20th thru the end of the school year (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-6-36). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Agenda item number 4j was tabled until the May board meeting.

Austin Bradley made a motion to go into closed session at 7:26 p.m. regarding employment, compensation, discipline of district personnel and collective bargaining. Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

The board came out of closed session at 8:16 p.m.

Grant Loudy made a motion to approve closed session minutes as read in closed session. Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Preston Justice made a motion to hire Paxton Morse as an Eldorado Unit 4 teacher for the 2021-2022 school year (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-3-25). Austin Bradley seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice and Schultz. Voting no: None. Abstaining: Grant Loudy. Absent: None.

Austin Bradley made a motion to hire Kaleigh Miles as a parent educator for the Prevention Initiative Grant Program for the 2021-2022 school year (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-3-26). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Austin Bradley made a motion to hire Dana Oglesby as a social worker for the 2021-2022 school year using funds through the Preventative Initiative Grant (Ref to Doc Reg JJ-3-27). Preston Justice seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.

Preston Justice made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:19 p.m. Austin Bradley seconded the motion. Roll call vote taken and motion carried. Voting yes: Bartok, Austin Bradley, Ron Bradley, Hampton, Justice, Loudy and Schultz. Voting no: None. Absent: None.
