City of McLeansboro Township Board met April 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The April 9th, 2024 Annual Town Meeting of the Mcleansboro Township was called to order by Clerk Richard Woods. There were no public comments.

Election of Moderator

Clydus Gray nominated Bob Brockett to be the Moderator at this years meeting. The nomination was seconded by Dennis Johnson. Nomination passed unanimously. As established at the last town meeting, the salary for the Moderator will be $35.00. The Moderators Oath of Office was administered by Clerk Woods.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

As requested by the Moderator, minutes from the 2023 meeting were read by the Clerk. There being no corrections, a motion was made by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Clydus Gray to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried.

Establishment of Moderators Salary for 2025

A motion was made by Clydus Gray and seconded by Dennis Johnson to set the Moderators salary for the 2025 Town Meeting at $35.00. Motion carried.

New Business

- Items to Discard: Clydus Gray requested permission from the Board to contact the appropriate State agency to determine which records currently stored at the Township building can be destroyed. As there was no objection to that request, Eva Lynn Gray was instructed to proceed with that process.

Annual Financial Report: The completed annual financial report for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024 was distributed and reviewed by those in attendance. After examination, a motion by Clydus Gray and seconded by Kyle Ingram to approve that report. Motion carried. Township Clerk Woods was directed to make arrangements to place a copy of the financial report in the local newspaper as required by statute.

- Transfer of Funds: After discussion, Clydus Gray made a proposal to transfer a total of $250,000.00 to both the Road and Bridge and Permanent Road Funds. Those transfers will be as follows: $110,000.00 at this meeting ($100,000.00 from the Town Fund and $10,000.00 from the Social Security Fund). In addition, a total of $140,000.00 will be transferred when the first real estate check is received ($110,000.00 from the Town Fund, $10,000.00 from the Social Security Fund and $20,000.00 from the Cemetery Fund). A motion to approve those transfers was made by Bob Brockett and seconded by Kyle Ingram.

Motion carried.

- There was no Old Business to discuss:

There being no further business to conduct, motion to adjourn was made by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Bob Brockett. Motion carried.
