Hamilton Memorial Hospital District (HMHD) has announced the creation of a new Patient and Family Engagement Committee (PFEC). This initiative aims to involve patients and their families in shaping the hospital’s care practices.

The PFEC is intended to gather insights from patients and families, ensuring their perspectives are integral to HMHD’s mission. Members of the committee, referred to as PFEC Advisors, will provide suggestions and share experiences to enhance care quality and safety.

“Listening to the lived experiences of our patients and their families is one of the most meaningful ways we can evolve and improve as a hospital,” stated Staci Frank, HMHD Quality and Risk Management Director. “The PFEC gives our community a direct and powerful voice in shaping how we deliver care.”

PFEC Advisors will engage in various activities such as sharing personal experiences, participating in discussion groups, reviewing patient education materials, and contributing to improvement projects with hospital staff.

To qualify for participation, applicants must have been patients at Hamilton Memorial Hospital or family members of patients within the last five years. These advisors will collaborate with hospital leadership to identify areas for enhancement.

Applications are currently open. Interested individuals can download the application or contact Staci Frank at 618.643.2361 Ext. 2003 for assistance if unable to access it online.

Through this committee, HMHD emphasizes its dedication to compassion, communication, and ongoing improvement alongside its community.
