Saline County taxpayers paid the 36th largest sum in sales taxes in December 2024, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Saline County residents paid $507,987 in sales taxes during December 2024.

Saline County ranked 37th in the Prairie State the month before, with $509,646 spent in sales taxes.

The County School Facility Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Saline County residents in December 2024.

As of 2021, Illinois was the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes were 39.83% higher than the national average.
