REGULAR MEETING MINUTES VILLAGE OF GOREVILLE
February 1, 2016
On February 1, 2016 at 5:05 PM, Mayor Vaughn called the regular board meeting to order.
The Village Clerk conducted roll call. The following trustees were present: Trustee Beckmann, Trustee Johnson, Trustee Jones, and Trustee Kerley were present. Trustee Venus and Trustee Baker were absent.
Others present at the meeting were: Village Clerk, Agnes Paul, Treasurer, Jackie Pritchett; Police Chief Eddie Holland, Mike Green, Sam Mighell, Mary Lou Craig, and Ray Kerley and Ken Swisher.
Trustee Kerley motioned to approve the minutes of the January 4, 2016 regular meeting, the treasurer’s report, and the paid bills for January totaling ($31,433.96), plus: Johnson County Youth League ($2,462.85).
The board approved the annual payment to Remminton LLC and People's National Bank from TIF # 1 in the amount of ($25,890.00) Trustee Johnson motioned to approve the payment. Trustee Kerley seconded the motion. All voted yes.
The village clerk presented information to the board on insurance claims paid and health insurance values.
Mike Green asked for approval to sell the old 1984 International dump truck. The board asked the village clerk to have an ad run in the paper to solicit sealed bids to be opened at the March 7th board meeting.
Fire Chief Tim Gage asked for authority to make a bid on a replacement rescue truck. The truck is in Rockford, IL. All equipment would be included except radios. The board gave approval for him to place a bid of $2,000.00 on the 1993 Ford truck. Trustee Jones motioned to approve the bid. Trustee Beckmann seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Police Chief Eddie Holland asked for authority to bid on a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria, which is located in Lake Forest S.C., through governmentdeals.com. The car has 74,000 miles on it. The board gave approval for him to make a bid of $1,500.00. Trustee Johnson motioned to approve the bid. Trustee Beckmann seconded the motion. All voted yes.
Trustee Jones presented information on water rates to be reviewed and discussed at the next meeting.
Trustee Jones encouraged members to form teams for a fund raising trivia night, sponsored by the Park Improvement Committee, at Blue Sky Winery on March 25th.
All business complete, at 5:37 PM, Trustee Kerley motioned to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Beckmann seconded the motion. All voted yes.
