Four Southern Illinois University baseball players recently earned postseason honors in summer leagues.
The school's athletic website noted that outfielder Ryan Smith was named to the All-West Coast League second team. Smith, who played for the Gresham (Oregon) GreyWolves, led the WCL with a .448 on-base percentage and 35 walks. He was also second in doubles with 11, and third in batting average (.320).
Meanwhile, Nick Hutchins, Connor Kopach and Greg Lambert were named to the Northwoods League Postseason All-Star Team. The league's website reported that Lambert, an infielder for the Wilmar (Minnesota) Stingers, was in the top 10 in several offensive categories, including first in RBIs with 66 and second in hits with 93.
Kopach, an infielder for the Kalamazoo (Michigan) Growlers, led the league with 50 stolen bases and was second in runs scored with 60.
Hutchins, a catcher for Kalamazoo, batted .325 and was seventh in doubles with 16 and tied for ninth with 47 RBIs.
