Eldorado library district receives per capita grant

The Eldorado Memorial Public Library District met July 14 to receive a per capita grant.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the district:

Minutes of The Board of Trustees

July 14th 2016

Present : Sheila Baird, Walter Baker, Bob Barker, Jeff Campbell, Janet Davis, Mike Vessell, Bookkeeper- Patsy Simpson, and Director-Felicia Murray.

Absent : Susan Justice

Trustee Jeff Campbell agreed to serve as Secretary Pro-Tem for this meeting.

President Sheila Baird called the meeting to order at 5:01 PM

No public citizenry was present.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as presented.

Bob Barker presented the treasurer’s report. After discussion a motion was made to approve the treasurer’s report and pay the bills by Janet Davis and seconded by Walter Baker. All present voted aye with a roll call vote.

Felicia Murray presented the librarian’s report. The previous month’s circulation was 2,804 items. There were 266 e-books and 17 Zinio items circulated. The interlibrary loans consisted of 619 loaned items and 524 borrowed items. There were 12 in-state items loaned and 1 out of state items loaned. There were 23 new patrons registered. There 525 people that used the computers. Total receipts amounted to $6,791.00 including the per capita grant of $5,574.79. The credit card terminal is operational again.

New Business:

Janet Davis and Sheila Baird volunteered to audit the minutes of the past year’s meetings.

Working Cash Ordinance #147 was approved with a motion made by Bob Barker and seconded

by Mike Vessell. All present voted aye with a roll call vote.

The per capita grant was received in the amount of $5,574.79

The budget committee will meet on Thursday Aug. 4th at 5:00 pm.

Bob Barker suggested that the storage building would need some shelving. Felicia Murray will contact someone who will be willing to install the shelving.

Some minor additional landscaping may be needed between the ramp and sidewalk. Felicia Murray has contacted Jerry’s Berries and Simon Naas.

Next meeting will be on Aug. 11th, 2016.
