The Eldorado Memorial Public Library District Board of Trustees met Sept. 8 to discuss trustee re-elections.

Present : Trustees : Sheila Baird, Walter Baker, Bob Barker, Jeff Campbell, Janet Davis, Susan Justice, Mike Vessell, Bookkeeper : Patsy Simpson and Assistant Library Director: Miriam Richardson
No public citizenry was present.
Annual Budget and Appropriation hearing was called to order at 5:00 pm by President Sheila Baird. Budget and Appropriation Ordinance #148 was approved and adopted with a motion made by Susan Justice and seconded by Mike Vessell. All trustees present voted aye with a roll call vote.
President Sheila Baird opened the regular monthly board of trustees meeting at 5:06 pm
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as presented.
Bob Barker presented the treasurer’s report. There were no issues at the present time. Bob Barker made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and to pay the bills. Walter Baker seconded the motion. All trustees present voted aye with a roll call vote.
Library Asst. Director Miriam Richardson presented the Librarian’s report. The previous month’s circulation was 2861. There were 231 3M items and 31 Zinio items circulated. Among interlibrary loans there were 695 items loaned and 475 items borrowed. There were 17 in-state loans and 1 out of state loan. There were 44 new patrons registered with a total of 5611 registered patrons. The computer usage was 552 for the previous month with 1141 users for the year to date. Total receipts amounted to $146,070.00 with $ 145,147.06 of this total received from the Saline Co. Treasurer.

New Business
TIF District : There will be a hearing on Oct. 12th 2016 at Eldorado City Hall, explaining the proposed TIF district in Eldorado. A TIF district could affect taxes and our annual revenues. It was suggested that some representatives from the Eldorado Memorial Library attend this hearing for informational purposes.
Trustee Elections : Trustees Walter Baker and Janet Davis will need to run for re-election to the Eldorado Library Board of Trustees in the April 2017 municipal election. Felicia Murray will have more information about this at the next meeting.
Legence Bank 5k : Legence Bank was given permission to use the Eldorado Library parking lot and grounds as the starting place for their annual T&C Days 5k run ,with a motion made by Susan Justice and seconded by Jeff Campbell
