Demarius Jacobs, who earned all-state recognition last season at Uplift High School in Chicago, has signed with the Southern Illinois men's basketball program, according to siusalukis.com.

Jacobs, a senior 6-foot-2 guard, was an Associated Press Class 2A All-State Honorable Mention selection last season. He averaged 19 points per game on 39 percent shooting from behind the 3-point line, making 71 percent on his free-throw attempts.
Uplift went 19-8 last season and reached the sectional final.
In 2015, as a sophomore, Jacobs scored 13 points in the Class 2A championship game as the Titans won the state title. He was brought up from the junior-varsity team for the state tourney.
According to verbalcommits.com, Jacobs also received scholarship offers from Texas-El Paso, Chicago State, Green Bay, Drake, North Dakota, Long Island-Brooklyn, Central Connecticut State and Denver.
