Southern Illinois University (SIU) conducted the Saluki Baseball Winter Hitting Clinic Jan. 21-22 at the Garden Grove Event Center, according to siusalukis.com.
Aspects taught included bunting, mechanics, swing path, situational hitting and approach on two strikes.
The camp was for players 7-18 years old. The clinic for players 7-12 was held 1-3:30 p.m. each day, with the clinic for ages 13-18 taking place 4-6:30 p.m. The camps were limited to 25 registrants apiece.
Cost to participate was $125 per player. The Event Center is at 1215 E. Walnut St. in Carbondale.
