The Marion Chamber of Commerce extends an invitation to the public to attend its 96th Annual Awards Banquet & Auction, starting at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20, at the Pavilion in Marion.

The evening will begin with a social hour of music, beverages and hors d'oeuvres, featuring a diamond drop along with a silent auction and Wine & Spirit Pull.

On the night of the event, guests can purchase corks to redeem for a bottle of wine or liquor.

The diamond drop will benefit the Carterville-based Poshard Foundation for Abused Children. Additionally, guests can enjoy a photo booth with a professional photographer.

After the 6:30 p.m. dinner with entrée, salad, dessert and beverages, awards will follow in the categories of Young Professional Leadership, Distinguished Member, Citizen of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and Business/Industry of the Year.

Tickets are $60 per guest, or $400 for a corporate table that seats eight. Corporate sponsorships are also available. The event will be videotaped in HD with an opportunity for guests to purchase copies on DVD.

Additionally, the dinner committee is planning a tribute to Chamber supporters who have passed on during 2016. To contribute information for the memorial, RSVP or request more information about the event’s specific fundraising activities, call 618-997-6311, e-mail director@marionillinois.com.

The event is made possible by local sponsors, including health care organizations, retailers and other professional associations.
