The Columbia High School cheerleaders continued a recent run of success by placing second at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) state competition.
This is the second straight year Columbia finished in the top five for this competition.
The meet was held in Bloomington in February, and Columbia's score of 88.84 bested nine out of the 10 teams that had qualified for the finals. Lemont High School took home first place honors, edging out the Columbia girls by less than a point.
This is the second impressive performance for the Eagles cheerleaders in less than month. Back in January, they finished with the top score in the Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association Championships, taking home the first place trophy.
