Four athletes from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School have recently committed to continue their athletic and academic careers at institutes of higher learning.
First, Elle Basler, a three-sport star and the record holder for career goals and most goals in a season at Anna-Jonesboro, committed to McKendree University in Lebanon for soccer. She will play midfielder.
Her teammate, Chelsea Reinier, a two-sport standout at Anna-Jonesboro, will join Basler playing soccer at McKendree University. Reinier was twice named an all-conference golfer in high school, but will instead continue her career as a goalie when she gets to McKendree.
Next, Orlando Arreola, another soccer player from Anna-Jonesboro, committed to the program at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, while golfer Meghan Smith signed a letter of intent to hit the links with John A. Logan College in Carterville.
