New Simpson Hill Community School District 32 Board met April 27.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
President Hoffard called the regular board meeting of April 27, 2017, to order at 4:30PM.
Present were: Hoffard, Mize, Bain, Ross, and Craig. Administration present:
Mr. Nighswander and Mr. Witges. Visitors present: Angela Johnson, Ely Lambert, David Meier.
Motion by Bain seconded by Ross to approve the minutes of 03-09-17 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Bain seconded by Ross to approve and make public record the closed session minutes of the 03-09-17 board meeting, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Bain to approve the financial report as presented and payment of the bills as listed in the amount of $20,791., carried.
Administrative Reports: Enrollment/Mobility; Calendar; Election results.
Motion by Craig seconded by Mize to convene to closed session at 4:35PM to discuss:
Selection of a person to fill a public office, as defined in the Open Meetings Act, including a vacancy in a public office, when a public body is given power to appoint under law or ordinance, or the discipline, performance or removal of the occupant of a public office, when the public body is given power to remove the occupant under law or ordinance. 5ILCS 120/2(c)(3)
Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5ILCS 120/2(c)(2)
Appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2c (1) carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to resume to open session at 6:35PM, carried.
Motion by Bain seconded by Ross to approve donations to Top Flight, NSH 8th grade class, St. Judes, and VHS graduation as presented, carried.
Motion by Mize seconded by Ross to appoint Givonna Scarborough as school treasurer from 07/01/17 to 06/30/18, carried.
Motion by Craig seconded by Ross to accept the resignation letter of Matt Johnson, board member, as presented, carried.
Motion by Bain seconded by Mize to table the coaching positions as presented, carried.
Motion by Ross seconded by Bain to adjourn, carried.
