The meeting of the Cypress Elementary School Board was called to order by President John Wells at 7:00pm.

Roll Call: Hartline, present; Moore, present; Oliver, present; Penrod, present; Racey, present; Rudluff, present; Wells, present; Superintendent Shoemaker, present

Recognition of Visitors: Michelle Quertermous, Nick Griffith

Motion by Wells seconded by Moore to approve the minutes of the February 21 , 2017 Board meeting. All present voted yes.

Motion by Wells seconded by Rudluff to approve the closed session minutes of the February 21, 2017 meeting. All present voted yes.

Motion by Rudluff seconded by Hartline to approve the treasurer’s report for February 2017. Hartline, yes; Moore, yes; Oliver, yes; Penrod, yes; Racey, yes; Rudluff, yes; Wells, yes

Motion made by Wells seconded by Hartline at 7:07pm to adjourn to close session for Adjournment (Action Item) 5 ILCS 120/2

• The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the District or legal counsel for the District, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee or against legal counsel for the District to determine its validity. 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(1).

• Collective negotiating matters between the District and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees. 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2).

• Litigation, when an action against, affecting or on behalf of the particular District has been filed and is pending before a court or administrative tribunal, or when the District finds that an action is probable or imminent, in which case the basis for the finding shall be recorded and entered into the closed meeting minutes. 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(11). Motion by Wells seconded by Hartline to waive the following legal holidays as required under Public Act 96-640: the Birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, The Birthday of President Abraham Lincoln, the Birthday of Casimir Pulaski, Columbus Day, and Veteran’s Day in order to hold school , schedule teacher’s institute, conduct parent-teacher conferences, or conduct staff development activities.
