Eldorado Memorial Public Library Board met March 9.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
Present : Trustees- Walter Baker, Bob Barker, Sheila Baird, Jeff Campbell, Library Director- Felicia Murray and Bookkeeper- Patsy Simpson.
Absent : Trustees- Susan Justice, Mike Vessell and Janet Davis
Public Citizenry : None
President Sheila Baird opened the meeting at 5:05 PM.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as presented.
Bob Barker presented the treasurer’s report. There were no outstanding issues. Mr. Barker checked at the local banks for the best interest rate for funds from a previously matured cd. He suggested that we may want to wait a while before choosing a bank to see if interest rates might increase. Bob Barker made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report and to pay the bills. Walter Baker seconded the motion. All voted aye with a roll call vote.
Felicia Murray presented the librarian’s report. There were 2457 items circulated for the previous month with a year to date total of 21179. There were 247 Cloud Library and 6 Zinio items circulated for a total of 253 e- resources. The interlibrary loans totaled 489 with 19 in state and 0 out of state loans. There were 12 new patrons registered for the previous month. There are 4134 total patrons. The library staff has cleared some names from the list of patrons including deceased and inactive patrons. Computer users numbered 456 for the previous month and 4288 for the year to date. Total receipts amounted to $674.00

New Business:
Legislative Luncheon : Felicia Murray and Jeff Campbell attended a legislative luncheon on Feb. 27th in Mt Vernon Il. Representatives from the ILA and ALA were present. State Senator Dale Fowler was present and expressed his support for libraries in his district. All of the state lawmakers in attendance stated that there is nothing definite on a possible property tax freeze.
Members Matter Meeting : Felicia Murray attended this meeting in Marion Il. Speakers stressed that there has been no further action on House Bill #696 (property tax freeze). Various officials from the IHLS also explained the services that the organization provides and stressed the need for continued state funding.
Elementary Book Fair : Miriam Richardson attended this event and registered 7 families as patrons for the library.
Election : Trustees Janet Davis and Walter Baker will be running for reelection in the municipal election on Tues. April 4th, 2017.
