Massac Community Unified School District 1 Board of Education met July 10.

A Special Meeting of the Board of Education of Massac County Unit School District #1 was called to order in the Superintendent’s Office, located at 401 Metropolis Street, Metropolis, IL 62960, at 3:57 PM by Board President, Mr. Mark Souders.
Roll call:

With a motion was by Rushing and a second by Sommer the Board voted to go to closed session to consider information relative to employment, appointment, or dismissal of specific employees or officers, collective negotiating matters between employers and their employees or representatives; to discuss litigation – probable, imminent, pending or filed. Roll call: Larrison, Rushing, Sommer, Steele and Souders voted yes.

With a motion from Larrison and a second from Sommer the Board voted to Approve the employment of the following teacher aides for the new Title 1 Plan: Melissa Griffith, Brookport; Brandye Krueger, Brookport; Kelsey Weatherford, Brookport; Val Stephens, Franklin; Alicia McNeill, Franklin; Penny Korte, Jefferson; Kandyse Travis; Leslie Armstrong, MES; Kandace Foster, MES; Lori Gray, MES; Lynsie Jacobs, MES; Sherry Rushing, MES; Mike Woods, MES; Danielle Walker, MES; Melanie Morris, Jr. High; Rene Neil, Jr. High; Courtney Clark, Jr. High; Chris Kennedy, Multiple Schools; Mary Porter, Unity; and Deisha Giltner, Unity. Roll call: Koch, Larrison, Rushing, Sommer, Steele and Souders voted yes.
The following Transfers were noted: JR Conkle, Franklin/Jefferson Principal to MES Principal; Aaron Clark, Technology to MCHS Special Education; Heather Baumgart to Franklin/Jefferson School Nurse; Karen Whitthorne, Brookport ABC, 123 to Mr. Ingram’ Independent Living Skills Class; Amanda Klankey, Brookport EC to ABC, 123 Classroom; Teressa Newbold, Brookport Resource to Brookport EC; Jason Neely, Unity Aide to Brookport/Unity, Sp. Ed. Aide; Tammy Weatherford, personal aide to MES personal aide; Jose Rodriquez, MES Individual Aide to a Jr. High Shared Aide between two students; Cheryl Hoyer, K, 1, 2 aide to Classroom Aide; Vivian Scott, MES EC Sp. Ed. to MES ED Program; Angie Kennedy, Pre K Secretary to MES EC Aide.
With a motion from Rushing and a second from Steele the Board voted to hire Rebecca West for Franklin/Jefferson Principal for the 2017/2018 School Year. Roll call: Koch, Larrison, Rushing, Sommer, Steele and Souders voted yes. Motion carried.
With a motion from Rushing and a second from Steele the Board voted to Approve the Principal Contracts of Parker Windhorst, MCHS; Rebecca West, Franklin/JJefferson; and Justin Kindle, MCHS. Roll call: Koch, Larrison, Rushing, Sommer, Steele and Souders voted yes. Motion carried.
At 5:08 PM with a motion from Sommer and a second from Koch the Board voted to adjourn. Roll call: Koch, Larrison, Rushing, Sommer, Steele and Souders voted yes. Motion carried.
