East Central Reporter Athletes in Action, Football: Sept. 17 - Sept. 23

Athletes in Action tracks players with ties to communities within the East Central Reporter coverage area as they compete at the collegiate level. The following football players will compete during the week of Sept. 17 to Sept. 23.

  • Cole Hoover - Charleston H.S.; Charleston, Illinois. Eastern Illinois Panthers; 6-foot-4, 230-pound redshirt / Freshman / Offensive lineman.
    Southeast Missouri State Redhawks vs Eastern Illinois Panthers. Sept. 23, 6:00 p.m.
  • Hayden Phillips - Mattoon H.S.; Mattoon, Illinois. McKendree Bearcats; 6-foot-2, 215-pound redshirt / Freshman / Defensive lineman.
    McKendree Bearcats vs William Jewell Cardinals. Sept. 23, 12:00 p.m.
  • Matt McCown - Casey-Westfield H.S.; Casey, Illinois. Illinois State Redbirds; 6-foot-3, 290-pound / Senior / Defensive lineman.
    Illinois State Redbirds vs Missouri State Bears. Sept. 23, 2:00 p.m.
  • Nick Wilson - Charleston H.S.; Charleston, Illinois. Eastern Illinois Panthers; 6-foot, 190-pound redshirt / Senior / Punter.
