The Carmi Chamber of Commerce has posted its schedule for the 2017 “It’s a White County Christmas,” with this year’s theme being “A Magical Christmas,” a release on the chamber’s website said.
“Once again, we are looking forward to a successful ‘It’s a White County Christmas’ celebration,” Chamber Executive Director Holly Healy said in the release. “Be sure and visit whitecountychristmas.com and follow ‘It’s a White County Christmas’ on Facebook for the latest schedule updates.”
“It’s a White County Christmas” kicked off Nov. 11 with the Miss Merry Christmas Pageant at Carmi White County High School Auditorium.
Residents are urged to shop for their holiday gifts in Carmi where Holiday Shopping Strolls are being promoted on Nov. 17 and 18 and Nov. 24 and 25, the website said.
The Lighted Christmas Parade will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 25 when Carmi will welcome Santa Clause. After the parade, a tree lighting will be held in Veteran's Park and Santa will visit with children until 9 p.m., the website said.
Children can continue the holiday fun with a Story House, with Santa as a special guest from 1 to 2 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Carmi Public Library.
A Breakfast with Santa, hosted by the Carmi Lions Club, will be on Dec. 16.
Old St. Nick will be welcoming children in his house near Veteran’s Park on various dates and times from Nov. 26 to Dec. 23.
