McLeansboro Township Board of Trustee met August 8. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

     The McLeansboro Township board met on August 8, 2017 at the township building


located at 105 W. Carpenter Street, McLeansboro, IL.

     Chairman Clydus Gray called the meeting to order.

     There were no public comments made at this time.

     Minutes from the previous month were read by Clerk Richard Woods. Motion by

Kyle Ingram and seconded by Dennis Johnson to accept the minutes as read. Motion

carried.

     New Business: Jamie Ellis presented a summary of the “Boot Camp” she

attended during the previous month. Jamie indicated the meeting focused on duties

and responsibilities of township official as well as how the general public should

be allowed to participate in regular monthly township meetings. As a matter of

information, chairman Gray indicated the township was entering an especially busy

time of the year and the board can expect to be involved in such matters as the

annual audit, coal mine road funds due the township and the annual tax levy.

     Road & Bridge, Building and Equipment, and Permanent Road Fund claims were

presented for approval. A motion was made by Becky Cross and seconded by Dennis

Johnson to pay the bills. Motion carried.

     Town and Social Security Fund claims were presented to the board for

approval. A motion was made by Kyle Ingram and seconded by Jamie Ellis to pay

those bills. Motion carried.

     A motion to adjourn was made by Becky Cross and a second by Dennis Johnson.

Motion carried.
