City of Benton Zoning & Planning Commission met November 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

The Benton Zoning and Planning Commission's regular business meeting was called to order by Chairman Cockrum at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the Benton Municipal Building at 1403 South Main Street. Roll Call: Cockrum, Neal, Bowlin, Collier, Shockley, Payne-Hubler, Absent: McGuire. Also present: David Garavalia, Zoning Administrator.

Motion made by Shockley and seconded by Collier to approve the minutes of the public meeting of October 4, 2017. Vote: Ayes: 6 Nays: 0.

Motion made by Shockley and seconded by Neal to approve the minutes of the regular business meeting of October 4, 2017. Vote: Ayes: 6 Nays: 0.

Under old business, update on city council action of October 9, 2017, given by Payne-Hubler. Approval of special use permits given for 403 S. Ward Street and 1203 E. Bond Street as well as minutes of public meeting and regular business meeting of October 4, 2017.

Mr. Garavalia and Mr. Collier gave an update of GIS mapping regarding meeting with Shawnee Professional Services.

"Under new business, the former "Newhouse Lumber" property was discussed.

Mr. Garavalia to contact the fire chief regarding property.

Mr. Garavafia gave update on building permits issued. Includes a building permit for Benton Lake, Bond Street and an addition on Illinois Avenue.

Under miscellaneous business, proposed dates discussed for meetings in the calendar year 2018.

No public comments.

Next regular business meeting scheduled for December 6, 2017.

Having no further business, a motion was made by Payne-Hubler and seconded by Cater to adjour-at 5:36 pm. Vote: Ayes: 6 Nays: 0.
