Galatia Public Library District Board met Oct. 24.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
The Library Board Meeting was called to order by President, Jerry Davis, at 5:00 pm.
Roll call was taken with the following present: Davis, Dilback, Eaton, Fulkerson, Hunter, Jackson and Mays.
Minutes
A motion was made by Fulkerson and seconded by Eaton to approve the minutes from the September, 2017 meeting. All approved. Motion carried.
Financial Report
A motion was made by Hunter and seconded by Mays to approve the financial report from the September, 2017 meeting. All approved. Motion carried.
Director’s Report for October 2017
Lad and Lassie 4-H club exhibit displayed in the library for judging during 4-H week.
Windows washed inside and out by Gress Window Cleaning.
Blind is in, will schedule a time to install.
Tax Levy Ordinance & Budget Ordinance filed in Saline and Hamilton County.
Water heater problems – have called 3 plumbers.
Have ordered the shelving unit from Tri-State Business. Friends will pay the cost of $2119.
Emergency light batteries installed, tested by Kevin on Monday, and are now working.
Book Sale next month.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT : None
COMMITTEE REPORT: Betty received a response from Baker Plumbing who then came and inspected the faulty water heater. A motion was made by Jackson and seconded by Fulkerson to pay the $180.00 to Baker for the repair to the water heater.
A motion was made by Fulkerson and seconded by Eaton to have Baker Plumbing install a new water heater at a cost of $1,583.83.

NEW BUSINESS: Per Capita Requirement-Library Safety has been met.
Per Capita Requirement-Trustee Facts – Chapter 1&2
Linda Mays announced that this will be her last meeting as a Trustee on the Library Board as Linda is moving to Harrisburg.

Announcements: Note meeting time change starting next month from 5pm to 4pm.
