The Board of Education of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. President Gary Buchanan called the meeting to order at 6:11 P.M
The following members were present:

Also present was Superintendent Bob Bowser, Secretary Sarah Courter, and Suzie Ernst from the Mt. Carmel Register. Board Member absent was Gary Buchanan.
Approve Consent Agenda
Richard Gochenour made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, September 20, 2017; Minutes of the Closed Meeting held Wednesday, September 20, 2017; Financial Reports – Treasurer’s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, Acting-President Beth Etzkorn put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

ADMINISTRATION – Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update -the Operating Fund has lower expenditures than last year, Breakfast/Lunch is around $-5600.51 net loss for the month; Sports Update - Basketball practice has started with 16-18 kids playing, there is five cheerleaders this year, the first basketball game is October 31st, Bob attended the SIJHSAA Board meeting, XC/Baseball Co-op Banquet is November 5; Transportation Update - waiting on first two transportation payments yet from the State; Other - looking into getting the school needs online through Common Goal.this program will be about to get several items online for the school such as grades, assignments, attendance, etc; No school October 20; Bob will attend the IASA funding meeting at Rend Lake on 10/19/2017.

Authorize School Administration As Designee Of Annual Emergency And Crisis Response Plan Meeting
Amanda Thombleson made the motion to authorize Superintendent Bowser as designee of the School Board for the Annual Emergency and Crisis Response Plan Meeting to be held in November here at Allendale School. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
membership to the southern illinois junior high school athletic association (SIJHSAA)
Mike Wilson made the motion to join the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association and enter the following teams in regional and state competition in Volleyball, Boys and Girls Track, Boys and Girls Cross Country, Baseball, and Boys Basketball, for calendar year 2018. Upon said motion being seconded by Tia Morgan, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members Voted:

Approve Administrator And Teacher Salary And Benefits 2017-2018
Tia Morgan made the motion to approve the Administrator and Teacher Salary and Benefits 2017-2018 as presented. Upon said motion being seconded by Richard Gochenour, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
Consider Approval Of Staff-Involved Community Service
Richard Gochenour made the motion to allow the Superintendent to schedule the use of school resources on school time to aid in the general cleaning of the Ruritan Building. Upon said motion being seconded by Mike Wilson, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried.
Request Extension Of Waiver & Set Public Hearing
(Sec 10-20.12a School Code) Tia Morgan made the motion to extend the Waiver - Section 10-20.12a of the school code and set a public hearing for November 15, 2017 at 5:45 pm. Upon said motion being seconded by Amanda Thombleson, the Acting-President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:
