City of Mc Leansboro City Council met October 23.

City of Mc Leansboro City Council met Oct. 23.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Mayor Deitz called the meeting to order and, following the Pledge of Allegiance, called for the roll call.

Roll call: Tom Maulding, Mark Beck, Richard Lasswell, James Mason, Don Cox – present. Mike Stanart—absent.

Attorneys Thomas Malkovich and David Garavalia were not in attendance.

There were two members of the public present. No public comments were given.

Mayor Deitz opened and distributed among Council members the bids for the purchase of the advertised trucks. One of the bids from Teffertiller Motors was not discussed due to it not meeting the published specifications. The following bids were discussed:

White County Ford & Chrysler $36,400.00 / $72,800.00

Ford Square (Mt. Vernon) $36,693.30 / $73,386.60

LeMond’s Ltd. (Fairfield) $36,830.00

$39,000.00

Teffertiller Motors $51,965.00

$53,060.00.

Alderman Maudling, during the meeting and at the request of Mayor Deitz, phoned White County Ford and LeMond’s Ltd., to clarify issues with their respective proposals.

Mr. Mason made the Motion To Purchase Two (2) 2018 Ram 2500 Crew Cab Tradesman Trucks With Monies For Purchase To Come From The Respective Departments (Gas, And Water) For The Price Of Seventy-Two Thousand, Eight Hundred Dollars ($72,800.00) From White County Ford & Chrysler, 1337 Il Highway 1, Carmi, Illinois 62821, second Mr.Lasswell. Roll call: Mason, Lasswell, Beck, Cox, Maulding. Ayes – 5. Nay – 0. Motion passed.

At 4:14 P.M. Mr. Mason made the MOTION TO ADJOUR, second Mr. Cox. Voice vote. Motion passed.
