Village of Freeburg Public Property Committee met January 10.

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

          The meeting of the Public Property Committee was called to order at 6:11 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in the Municipal Center by Chairman Ray Matchett. Members present were Chairman Ray Matchett, Trustee Denise Albers, Trustee Dean Pruett, Trustee Matt Trout, Mayor Seth Speiser, Village Clerk Jerry Menard, Trustee Mike Blaies, Trustee Lisa Meehling, Village Attorney Fred Keck, Public Works Director John Tolan, Chief Mike Schutzenhofer, Village Administrator Tony Funderburg and Office Manager Julie Polson. Guest present: Janet Baechle.


Pool:  A. Old Business: 

1. Pool: Pool Manager Scott Schulz has asked to hire more lifeguards.

B. New Business: Village Clerk Jerry Menard asked who the third manager is going to be, and Village Administrator Tony Funderburg advised we are working on it. Public Works Director John Tolan said in the past we've taken a senior lifeguard and moved them up into a manager position.

Streets: A. Old Business:

1. Approval of December 13, 2017 Minutes: Trustee Denise Albers motioned to approve the December 13, 2017 minutes and Trustee Matt Trout seconded the motion. All voting yea, the motion carried.

2. E. Apple Street Proposed Repair: John advised it is on our list of projects for 2018.

3. Drainage Problem Areas (Hill Mine Rd.)/Stormwater Run-Off: John has nothing new to report. Tony stated he still needs to send the letter to the school after Attorney Keck reviews it.

4. Customer Issues: None.

John advised the leaf program has ended for now. We will go back in early April and spring clean. John confirmed the part timer workers are done. He said Dick and Kurt did a good job and would be willing to come back.

B. New Business: Tony talked to Bill Vollmer regarding the streets in his subdivision, and he is willing to put in concrete streets. He did ask for us to reconsider using IDOT's standard for collector streets. Tony stated we want to build to collector standards, and further stated we need to look at our code and see if that amount is correct or if it should be something less.

C. General Concerns: None.

D. Public Participation: Janet would like to see the streets in the new subdivision to meet our code.

E. Adjourn: Trustee Matt Trout motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:21 p.m. and Trustee Dean Pruett seconded the motion. All voting yea, the motion carried.
