New Hope Community Consolidated School District 6 Board met Jan. 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

President Jason Simpson called the meeting to order at 6:01 P.M.

Roll Call: Present: Dan Devous

Absent: None

Also Present: Julie Harrelson, Superintendent

Dan Devous made a motion to approve the December 19, 2017 regular meeting minutes with no corrections noted. Second by Derek Smothers.

Nay: None Carried

Superintendent Julie Harrelson presented the Treasurer’s Report and current financial information. Bank balances as of December 31, 2017.

Fairfield National Bank Checking: $868,937.04

IPTIP: $904.74

Fairfield National Bank Money Market: $744,004.07

Rhonda Clark made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Second by Ryan Green.

Voice Vote: Yea: Ryan Green, Rhonda Clark, Dan Devous, Jason Simpson, Derek Smothers, Ryan Duckworth, Nate Carter

Nay: None Carried

Derek Smothers made a motion to pay the bills with no additions or exclusions noted. Second by Nate Carter.

Mrs. Harrelson presented the Superintendent’s Report; FOIA request included in packet.

Comparison of quarter 2 expenditure and revenue reports. Senate Bill 851 if passes, New Hope will lose more than $80,000 in revenue. Superintendent evaluations are due at the February meeting, board president Jason Simpson will handle those arrangements. Girls basketball regional will play tomorrow so that state finals can be made. The teacher in-service scheduled for last Friday was to include training on our new poster maker and laminator, 4-H coming to teach computer coding class.

New Business:

1. Derek Smothers made a motion to approve 2018-10 school calendar. Second by Ryan Green.

Voice Vote: Yea: Nate Carter, Ryan Green, Rhonda Clark, Dan Devous, Jason Simpson, Derek Smothers, Ryan Duckworth

Nay: None        Carried

2. Ryan Duckworth made a motion to set graduation date for Friday, May 18, 2018. Second by Rhonda Duckworth.

Voice Vote: Yea: Ryan Green, Rhonda Clark, Dan Devous, Jason Simpson, Derek Smothers, Ryan Duckworth, Nate Carter

Nay: None        Carried

Dan Devous made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:20 P.M. Second by Derek Smothers.
