Harrisburg Community Unit School District 3 Board of Education met Jan. 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The special meeting of the Board of Education of Harrisburg Community Unit School District #3, Saline County, Illinois, was held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018, as announced by posted public notice and by mail. The following members of the Board were present: Mr. Tom DeNeal, Mr. Billy Smith, Mr. Jeffrey Drake, Mr. Kevin Dowdy, Mr. Ryan Lambert. Mr. Chris Penrod, and Mr. Jonathan Russell were absent.

The following administrators were present: Mike Gauch, Scott Dewar, Natalie Fry, and Randy Smithpeters. The following Unit #3 staff members were present: Keri Holland, Marsha Byas, Janet Hughes, Jay Thompson, Tony Chrisman, and Emily Patterson. The following members of the public were present: Gina Sirach and Chad Flannery.

With a quorum of the members of the Board being present, Vice President Smith called the meeting to order and declared the Board to be in session for the transaction of business.

Recognition and Comments from Employees and Public

Representatives from SIC, Gina Sirach and Chad Flannery, explained the options for Dual Credit to the Board.

Mr. Lambert moved and Mr. Drake seconded the motion to proceed with creation of a lease agreement for the district to lease the 2nd floor of the Clear-Wave building. This lease will be reviewed and possibly approved at a formal Board meeting. On a call of the roll, the motion received a unanimous vote of yea.

Mr. Dowdy moved and Mr. Lambert seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting. Upon a call of the President for a voice vote to be taken and the vote having been taken, it was determined the result of said motion carried.

The meeting adjourned at 6:39 p.m.
