Analysis: Carmi pays $5.21 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Carmi Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 81.9 percent of the $351,478 the Carmi Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.21 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Carmi contributed $287,823 to the fund, which saw a $28,534 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $55,201, or 15.7 percent, in 2016. Another $8,454 came from other unspecified sources.
