Analysis: Fairfield pays $6.13 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Fairfield Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 86 percent of the $380,436 the Fairfield Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.13 for every $1 from pension members, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Fairfield contributed $327,121 to the fund, which saw a $30,956 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $53,305, or 14 percent, in 2016. Another $10 came from other unspecified sources.
