Sen. Dale Fowler (R-Springfield) is cleaning up language and making changes in a natural resources bill.
Introduced at the April 18 Senate floor debate, SB3246 is an initiative of the Department of Natural Resources and transfers the administration Landowner Grant Program from the department to the Illinois Petroleum Resources Board, according to Fowler, who sponsored the bill.
“It provides that the Department has the power to transfer an amount not to exceed $250,000 per fiscal year from the Plugging and Restoration Fund to the Board for the sole purpose of implementing the Landowner Grant Program,” Fowler read from the bill synopsis.
