Report: Wabash spent $8,134 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Wabash Community Unit School District 348 is down 11 percent from five years ago, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Wabash County school district spent $9,092 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,134 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1681 to 1531.

Wabash's spending in 2016-17 was 37 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
