McLeansboro Township Board met May 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The May 8th, 2018 meeting of the Mcleansboro Township Board was called to order by Supervisor Clydus Gray. The meeting was held at the Township building located at 105 Carpenter Street in McLeansboro, Illinois.

There were no public comments.

Budget Review

Supervisor Gray requested the minutes reflect that a budget review was conducted at the Township building between 5:30 P.M. and 6:00 P.M., immediately prior to this regular board meeting.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

Minutes from the April 2018 meeting were read by the Clerk. There being no corrections, a motion was made by Becky Cross and seconded by Kyle Ingram to approve the minutes as written. Motion carried.

Old Business

- Credit Card for Road Commissioner: It was noted that the credit card requested by

Road Commissioner Drake has been received. Bob thanked the board for their consideration in this matter.

- Township Budgets: There were no issues raised during the period both the

Township and Road District budgets for 2018-2019 were on display nor, were any questions raised during the budget review. As a result, a motion was made by Jamie Ellis and seconded by Becky Cross to officially approve the budgets as presented. Motion carried.

New Business

- Coal Mine Road: Road Commissioner Drake presented the board with an overview of work needed on what is known as the Coal Mine Road. After review by an engineer, it was determined that existing cracks in the road need to be sealed. Bob stated the cheapest pricing received for this project was $14,400 which would be covered by the $20,000 line item in the Coal Mine Road budget. Bob further indicated that more extensive work is anticipated over the next few years due to the amount of traffic on the road.

Monthly Claims

- Road and Bridge Fund, Building and Equipment Fund and Permanent Road Fund claims were presented for review. Motion by Dennis Johnson and seconded by Becky Cross to pay those bills. Motion carried.

- Town Fund and Social Security Fund claims were also presented for review. Motion by Becky Cross and seconded by Jamie Ellis to pay those bills. Motion carried.

There being no further business to conduct, motion to adjourn was made by Dennis Johnson and seconded by Becky Cross. Motion carried.
