Carrier Mills Fire Department responded to 50 calls in 2017 - 22 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Carrier Mills included 43 fires - 20 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 21 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $371,300 in fire loss - or about $8,635 per fire.

The department also received six false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
