Wabash Community Unit School District 348 Board met July 30.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
President Tim Schuler called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Theresa Hocking called the roll. Attending in addition to Hocking were Kyle Peach, Ryan Peter, Jared Alka, Neil Earnest and Tim Schuler. Janice Alka was absent.
Others present were Superintendent Chuck Bleyer and District Secretary Kim Zimmer.
Move to go to Closed Session At 7:01 p.m., Earnest moved to enter into Executive Session pursuant to Section 2(c)(1) of the Open Meetings Act: “The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees.” The motion was seconded by Peter. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Janice Alka was absent.
Open Session A motion to return to open session was made by Hocking and seconded by Jared Alka. All present voted Aye. Motion Carried. Janice Alka was absent. The meeting returned to open session at 7:20 p.m.
Closed Minutes Approved Peach motioned to approve the closed session minutes as read in closed session. The motion was seconded by Hocking. All present voted aye. Janice Alka was absent. Motion Carried.
Personnel Employment A motion to approve the employment of Laura Garrett as MCES Individual Aide beginning the start of the 2018-2019 school year was made by Hocking and seconded by Jared Alka. All present voted aye. Janice Alka was absent. Motion Carried.
A motion to approve the employment of Diana Kieffer as MCES Title Assistant (Kindergarten) beginning the start of the 2018-2019 school year was made by Earnest and seconded by Peach. All present voted aye. Janice Alka was absent. Motion Carried.
A motion to approve the transfer of Crystal Dulgar to MCES Special Ed Paraprofessional beginning the start of the 2018-2019 school year was made by Hocking and seconded by Jared Alka. All present voted aye. Janice Alka was absent. Motion Carried.
A motion to approve the transfer of Matt McCarty to MCES Title Paraprofessional (2nd Grade) beginning the start of the 2018-2019 school year was made by Earnest and seconded by Peach. All present voted aye. Janice Alka was absent. Motion Carried.
A motion to approve the employment of Alyson Hicks as Special Education Coordinator/Assistant Principal beginning August 1, 2018 was made by Jared Alka and seconded by Hocking. All present voted aye. Janice Alka was absent. Motion Carried.
Adjournment A motion to adjourn was made by Jared Alka and seconded by Hocking. All present voted aye. Janice Alka was absent. Motion Carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
