Republican state House candidate Patrick Windhorst was recently endorsed by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).

“Small businesses are the largest job creators in Illinois and the backbone of our local economy,” he posted on Facebook. “I will continue to fight for our small businesses — that means lower taxes, and the pro-growth reform needed to bring more jobs and prosperity to Southern Illinois.”

The NFIB accolade comes as Windhorst, the Massac County State’s Attorney, campaigns against incumbent Rep. Natalie Phelps Finnie (D-Elizabethtown) for the 118th District seat in the November general election.

Windhorst recently traveled with U.S. Rep. Mike Bost (R-Illinois) to the town of Anna. He thanked Bost on Facebook for his joint appearance to discuss campaigning at the grassroots level.

“I’m thankful for his support and commitment to bettering both state and federal government,” Windhorst said. “We’re going to make sure that the 118th goes Republican this fall!”

The 118th House District includes parts of Alexander, Gallatin, Hamilton, Hardin, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline and Union counties.
