Galatia Public Library District Board met August 28.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The Library Board Meeting was called to order by President, Jerry Davis at 5:00 pm.


Roll call was taken with the following members present: Davis, Dilback, Eaton, Fulkerson, and Hunter.

Minutes

A motion was made by Fulkerson and seconded by Eaton to approve the minutes from the July, 2018 meeting. All approved. Motion carried.

Financial Report:

A motion was made by Eaton and seconded by Sisney to approve the financial report from the July, 2018 meeting. All approved. Motion carried.

Directors Report for August, 2018

The July Summer Reading Program-Reading Takes You Everywhere-concluded with a total of 58 children and 33 adults participating. Pictures are on the website.

Alan Monroe is scheduled to go over the books September 5.

Pre-K story time will begin September 12.

Plans for Tweens do Stem are complete-all books have been received and processed.

Presenters are scheduled beginning September 10. Looking forward to exciting programs including 3D printing for grades 4-6.

Thanks to Kay and Sue for reading and verifying the secretary’s minutes.

IPLAR is due September 1.

Unfinished Business: No progress is being made on the Yearbook Project.

New Business:

A motion was made by Fulkerson and seconded by Hunter to accept the B&A Ord. #18/19-01. Motion carried.

Chapters 8 of the Per Capita Requirement was reviewed.

Chapter 8 regarding Human Resources was discussed as a guide to requirements to be listed in advertisement for New Library Director.

Discussion was held on when and where to advertise the Job Description for a new Library Director following Betty’s retirement on November 16.

Other: Discussion was held on the Time Sensitive Incentive Program offered by Ameren and Enersol Company. The Ameren Illinois Incentives Program offering allows library’s upfront costs of replacing 4’ florescent lamps with 4’ LED lamps at zero cost with labor included.
