City of Mc Leansboro Council met September 24.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Deitz called the special meeting of the McLeansboro City Council to order. Roll call: Mark Beck, Jim Mason, Tom Maulding, Richard Lasswell Don Cox-- present. Mike Stanart -- absent

Attorneys Tom Malkovich and David Garavalia were absent.

There were 4 members of the public present. During public comments Rodney Campbell showed the Council a picture of Joe Swartz and Raleigh Chapman, both deceased members of the McLeansboro Fire Department, along with two officers' hats that he had bought at a rummage sale and is donating to the fire department's collection of memorabilia. Keith York commented on the times for the clean-up and asked the council to consider evening and/or week-end options. It was noted that after hour collections would result in over-time fees which would increase the cost of the clean-up to the City.

Mr. Mason made the Motion To Accept The Bid By E.T. Simmons Contruction Company, Po Box 2107, Carbondale, Illinois 62859, In The Amount Of Forty-Three Thousand, One Hundred Ninety-Eight Dollars And Sixty-Three Cents ($43,198.63) For Resurfacing South Pearl Street Using Motor Fuel Tax Monies, second Mr. Beck. Roll call: Mason, Beck, Cox, Lasswell, Maulding. Ayes – 5. Nay – 0. Motion passed.

Mr. Beck made the Motion To Approve October 1-4, From 7:30 a.m. To 3:30 p.m. As Dates And Times For The City-Wide Fall Clean-Up To Be Held At 312 West Market Street, second Mr. Mason. Roll call: Beck, Mason, Lasswell, Cox, Maulding. Ayes – 5. Nay – 0. Motion passed.

At 4:21 p.m. with no further discussion and, or business Mr. Lasswell made the Motion To Adjourn, second Mr. Cox. Voice vote. Motion passed.
