Cam Simpson was given the floor to speak to the board regarding enrollment procedures and residency requirements. He is upset with the district because he was required to provide the district drivers license and voter registration to enroll his children. Cam claimed he has contacted the Regional Office of Education – Shannon Henson, Illinois State Board of Education – Dr. Linda Vaughn, and paperwork from website of the U.S. Department of Justice. He is also upset because he was told he was on a “list” and in his prior police profession, lists were not a good thing. Superintendent Harrelson informed him that the list consisted of married couples who maintain two residents in differing districts. Mr. Simpson also questioned now that the required paperwork is on file, would his residency be in question and checked again? Superintendent Harrelson informed him that if a complaint was made in regards to his residency, she would continue to follow up because that is her job. Cam would like for the board to add written procedures for enrollment to their policy.

Superintendent Julie Harrelson presented the Treasurer’s Report and current financial information. Bank balances as of July 31, 2018.

We did not have any applications turned in for the cheerleading sponsor position. Jodi Poole has agreed to fill that position. There were no new Title I teacher resumes submitted.
