Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The New Hope Board of Education met on September 18, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the work room of the school.

President Jason Simpson called the meeting to order at 7:12 p.m.

Derek Smothers made a motion to approve the August 21, 2018 regular meeting minutes with no corrections noted. Second by Dan Devous.

Nay:None Carried

Krista McLaren with Kemper CPA Group presented the Fiscal Year 2018 Annual Financial Report. She reported a clean report adding that the District is in a great financial state with a 4.0 financial profile.

Superintendent Julie Harrelson presented the Treasurer’s Report and current financial information. Bank balances as of August 31, 2018.

Fairfield National Bank Checking:$710,585.38

IPTIP:$914.70

Fairfield National Bank Money Market:$745,527.00

Dan Devous made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Second by Nate Carter.

Nate Carter made a motion to pay the bills with no additions or exclusions noted. Second by Derek Smothers.

Krista McLaren presented the District’s Fiscal Year 2018 Annual Financial Report.

Motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report.

Motion to pay the bills with no additions or exclusions noted.

No committee reports given.

Mrs. Harrelson presented the Superintendent’s Report; IASB Division Meeting is Thursday, October 4th in Pickneyville. Fairfield National Bank made a $1,000 donation to the school. We are using the money towards science kits for Mr. Webb’s class. Board Member petitions may begin circulating and must be filed December 10-17, 2018. New Hope property taxes are being lowered again and will be the lowest rate in 10 years. Discussion of items of priority on the architect’s proposed scope of work.

1. Dan Devous made a motion to accept Annual Financial Report as presented by Kemper CPA Group. Second by Derek Smothers.

2. Derek Smothers made a motion to approve Fiscal Year 2019 budget. Second by Nate Carter.

3. Derek Smothers made a motion to approve Jodi Poole as Cheerleading Coach. Second by Dan Devous.

Dan Devous made a motion to enter executive session at 7:40 p.m. for personnel appointment and hiring and student discipline. Second by Nate Carter.

Dan Devous made a motion to return to open session at 8:00 p.m. Second by Nate Carter.
