New Hope Community Consolidated School District 6 Board met Nov. 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

President Jason Simpson called the meeting to order at 6:21 P.M.

Roll Call: Present: Dan Devous

Absent: None

Also Present: Julie Harrelson, Superintendent

Derek Smothers made a motion to approve the October 16, 2018 regular meeting minutes with no corrections noted. Second by Ryan Green.

Superintendent Julie Harrelson presented the Treasurer’s Report and current financial information. Bank balances as of October 31, 2018.

Fairfield National Bank Checking: $751,919.34

IPTIP: $917.81

Fairfield National Bank Money Market: $745,906.73

Rhonda Clark made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report. Second by Derek Smothers.

Motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting with no changes noted.

Motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report.

Motion to pay the bills with no additions or exclusions noted.

No committee reports given.

Mrs. Harrelson presented the Superintendent’s Report; Insurance savings total $3000 by switching to EMC. School report card and PARCC scores comparison in the packet compares all schools in our area. Jane Best contacted the school in regards to a memorial shelter for Megan Nichols to be built on the playground. Christmas program is December 21 st at First Christian Church at 6:00 P.M. School board petitions can be submitted December 10-17 th. State is offering a property tax relief grant in which New Hope is potentially eligible for $121,000. Board discussed the bond amount in which they were willing to invest in which they agreed upon $330,000. At next month’s meeting board will have to vote on the waiver for staff’s children to attend tuition free.

1. Dan Devous made a motion to approve an estimate of the aggregate tax levy. Second by Ryan Duckworth.

2. Rhonda Clark made a motion to destroy executive session recordings more than 18 months old. Second by Dan Devous.

Item 3 was removed from the agenda.

Nate Carter made a motion to enter in to executive session at 6:41 P.M. for student discipline, individual student matters, and personnel performance and compensation. Second by Derek Smothers.

Voice Vote: Yea: Nate Carter, Ryan Green, Rhonda Clark, Dan Devous, Jason Simpson, Derek Smothers, Ryan Duckworth

Nay: None Carried

Dan Devous made a motion to return to open session at 6:59 P.M. Second by Ryan Green.
