Report: Hamilton County spent $8,289 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Hamilton County Community Unit School District 10 is down 9.5 percent from five years ago, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Hamilton County school district spent $9,157 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,289 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1177 to 1230.

Hamilton County's spending in 2017-18 was 37.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
