Report: Wabash spent $9,287 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Wabash Community Unit School District 348 is down 0.7 percent from five years ago, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Wabash County school district spent $9,354 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,287 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1649 to 1485.

Wabash's spending in 2017-18 was 30.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
