Report: Jasper spent $9,802 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Jasper Community Consolidated School District 17 is down 3 percent from five years ago, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Wayne County school district spent $10,103 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,802 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 148 to 169.

Jasper's spending in 2017-18 was 26.5 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
