Report: Galatia spent $8,815 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Galatia Community Unit School District 1 is up 5.9 percent from five years ago, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Saline County school district spent $8,326 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,815 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 439 to 443.

Galatia's spending in 2017-18 was 33.9 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
