Report: Gallatin County spent $9,283 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Gallatin County Community Unit School District 7 is down 2.7 percent from five years ago, according to a SE Illinois News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Gallatin County school district spent $9,540 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,283 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 775 to 756.

Gallatin County's spending in 2017-18 was 30.4 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
